    Oral Checkup

If you believe that there is an issue with your pet's teeth or mouth, please schedule a consultation as soon as possible. From there, the veterinarian will advise you on the next best step to address any potential issues.

Oral Surgery, Xrays, Scaling & Polishing
Because pets will not permit a full oral exam and dental treatments while awake, it is necessary to place them under general anesthesia. After a thorough oral exam, during which the doctor inspects and probes each tooth, takes a look at the tongue, soft and hard palate and gums, the doctor will take full mouth x-rays to assess the roots of each teeth. If any issues with the teeth are discovered, the doctor will talk with you about the most appropriate treatment plan moving forward. Sometimes a tooth can be saved and other times it may need to be extracted (removed). Regardless, all remaining teeth will be polished and cleaned to remove plaque that has built up over the years, leaving your pet with a clean, fresh mouth!
